Camarines Norte, Bicol, PH – Suspected New Peoples Army (NPA) rebels attack the nine (9) man team of Camarines Norte Provincial Mobile Force Company (CNPMFC) that transpired at about 1 AM on December 2, 2017 at Sitio Binuang, Brgy Daguit, Labo, Camarines Norte which resulted to the killing of one police officer and wounding of seven others.
In a press statement received by The Fenix Files from P/Supt Victor E Abarca, Public Information Officer of Camarines Norte Police Provincial Office said personnel of Camarines Norte Provincial Mobile Force Company (CNPMFC) were on board two (2) patrol vehicles led by PO2 Rommel Orante, after conducting three (3) days Internal Security Operation in Barangay Bagong Silang, Labo, Camarines Norte, when the CNPMFC personnel reached Sitio Binuang, Brgy Daguit they were fired upon by suspected communist rebels.
The police identified the fatality as PO2 Richard M. Abad while the injured policemen are PO2 Ronald Gutierrez; PO2 Ericson De Vera; PO1 Jeffrey Tarrobago; PO1 Pedro Valeros; PO1 Romar Umandap; PO1 Johnson Espaṅa and PO1 Mark Anthony Aguilar.
PSSupt Cerilo D. Trilles Jr, Acting Provincial Director of Camarines Norte Police Provincial Office (CNPPO), together with personnel from the Police Provincial Office, CNPMFC and Philippine Army (PA) proceeded to the place of the incident and rescued the wounded personnel and brought to the Camarines Norte Provincial Hospital (CNPH).
Accordingly, personnel of Camarines Norte Provincial Mobile Force Company (CNPMFC) and Philippine Army were still in pursuit of the fleeing NPA rebels.
Meanwhile, as of press time the Armando Catapia Command, the provincial command of the New People’s Army in Camarines Norte has not been issued any confirmation on the said encounter. END/The Fenix Files/rif
